Sheila Kelly Carberry grew up in Rockville Centre, New York and attended Kellenberg Memorial High School where she played basketball, soccer and softball. During her tenure at Molloy College, she was a two sport athlete competing and excelling in both soccer and softball. As a four year starter on both squads, Sheila was a standout player and currently holds numerous Molloy College records. She graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and completed her master’s degree in Business Administration at Adelphi University in 1999. 
 
Upon graduation, Sheila served as an Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Soccer coach for two years at Molloy College. In 2000 she entered the New York City Police Academy and currently serves as a police officer in the Special Operations Graffiti Unit in the 105 Precinct in Queens.
 
Among her achievements are the following Molloy College All-time career records in soccer: first in goals (61), goals per game (1.3), points (138) and points per game (2.94); fourth in assists per game (.34) and shots (144) and fifth in assists (16) and shots per game (3.06). Her Molloy College single season soccer records include first (28), third (17) and fourth in goals (16); first (1.65), second (1.13), and third (1.07) in goals per game; first (63), third (38) and fourth (37) in points; first (3.71), third (2.53) and fourth (2.47) in points per game; first (80) and fifth (64) in shots (80); first (4.71) and second (4.27) in shots per game and tied for fifth in assists (7) and assists per game (.41).
 
In Softball, Sheila holds the following Molloy College career records: first in triples(27); second in runs scored (165); third in runs batted in (178); fourth in hits (226), slugging percentage (.606) and total bases (341); fifth in batting average (.401); sixth in on base percentage (.455) and tied for sixth in home runs (11); eighth in assists (214); tied for ninth in doubles (28) and tied for tenth in stolen bases (31). Single season records include first (11) and tied for sixth (7) in triples; first in runs batted in (73); third in total bases (125); tied for fourth in hits (78); fifth in runs scored (52); ninth in slugging percentage (.706) and assists (108) and tied for ninth in home runs (7).
 
Sheila was the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) Rookie of the Year in Soccer in 1994 and in Softball in 1995. She was a NYCAC Soccer First Team All Star in 1995; a NYCAC Soccer First Team All League Player in 1996 and 1997 and in 1996 and 1997 was named a NYCAC Softball First Team Player. She was also the Nassau County Female Athlete of the Year in 1998.
 
Academically she was the recipient of the Molloy College Scholar Athlete Award and graduated with departmental honors in Sociology and Criminal Justice. She was a member of the Sociology Honor Society in 1997 and 1998.   
 
In 2004 Sheila married her husband, Bill, and they reside in Rockville Centre, New York with their three children; William (5), Thomas (5) and JoeJoe (3).
