Frank Wassenbergh was born and raised in Rockaway Beach, New York. He was educated at St. Francis Preparatory High School before continuing his education at Molloy College. Frank graduated in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Business Management.
Frank was very involved in basketball during his youth in both school ball and the AAU program. Current Head Men's Basketball Coach Charlie Marquardt knew Frank growing up in Rockaway and was aware of his basketball skills through former assistant coach, Jimmy Walsh. Despite an average basketball career in high school, Coach Marquardt was impressed with his skills and production in AAU ball and recruited him to join the Molloy team in the Fall of 1995.
Frank Wassenbergh was a major part of the Molloy program from 1995-1999. He participated in 107 contests, guiding the team as captain for three seasons. He was a career .482 shooter, who averaged 10.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while swiping 145 steals and dishing out 134 assists. In the Lions' all-time record book he ranks fourth in field goal percentage and total rebounds (604), sixth in rebounds per game, seventh in made free throws (268) and steals, eighth in free throw percentage (.677) and games played, and ninth in steals per game (1.4). Frank is also a member of 1000th Point Club. Frank's best offensive output came in his sophomore year when he averaged 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while amassing 58 assists and 40 steals.

While attending Molloy College, Frank worked part-time in the Maintenance Department. He was very involved in campus activities, fund raising, helped in the selection of a new uniform for the basketball team and assisted in the redesign of the gymnasium from a prospective of both appearance and fan friendliness. Frank was very engaged in the Molloy community and still maintains today the friendships he developed as a college student-athlete.
Today, Frank is the Director of Sales for Business Communications Management, a 60mm firm in New York City. He has been with the company for 10 years working his way up from a sales representative to his current position, reporting directly to the owner. His current duties include new sales, marketing, client retention, alternate channels development, sales support and sales engineering.
Frank has always exhibited a strong work ethic. He credits his success to the values he learned while at Molloy College and the opportunities he had to contribute to the growth of the school. Frank remains active today in Molloy College, returning to assist with the development of young players for Coach Marquardt as well as working with Bob Houlihan to prepare students for life in the work force.
Frank Wassenbergh married his high school sweetheart, Beth, in 2004 and they have three children, Dylan (7), Logan (5 1/2), and Lacey (3). He resides in Oceanside, New York.
