The East Coast Conference announced the results of its annual Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll ahead of the 2026 season, with Molloy take second-place at 38 points.
Mercy earned the top spot with 49 points, earning all seven first-place votes. After Molloy, the play-off picture was rounded out with Daemen (37 points) and D'Youville (29 points). Completing the poll were Roberts Wesleyan (15 points), St. Thomas Aquinas (14 points) and Queens (14 points). Mercy's Grace Dilena was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year.
The Lions enter 2026 eager to build off of last season's success that saw the team fall just short of capturing their third ECC title following a 3-2 loss to Mercy in the Championship Game. In 2025, Molloy put up a record of 18-10 that included nine wins in straight sets. This year's roster features five returning players that will serve as a core to build around with eight newcomers.
2026 will kick off with back-to-back home tri-matches for the Lions, welcoming Georgian Court and Bloomsburg (August 28) as well as Post and Tampa (August 29) to Bob Houlihan Court. Molloy will spend a large chunk of the campaign on their home court, playing 15 of 26 matches in Rockville Centre. ECC play will begin at home against Queens (September 26) and will end on the road at Daemen (November 7).
