The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the recipients of its annual Division II All-American teams. For the third year in program history, Molloy's volleyball program was represented with graduate student
Julia Zalta being designated as an Honorable Mention.
The setter, who was previously lauded All-East Coast Conference First Team and AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention, recently wrapped up a standout career with the Lions. She solidified herself in the record books with 1,791 career assists (6.71 per set), good for fourth all-time in both categories. She also ranks fourth with 136 service aces. Her performance, ranking in the top-10 in Division II in both aces per set (0.56, 13th), and service aces (57, 16th), helped Molloy return to the NCAA East Regional Tournament for the first time since 2021.
Zalta becomes just the fifth individual in the history of the Molloy volleyball program to earn an All-American nod, joining now-assistant coach
Kiarra Roth (2024) as well as standouts Kacey Affrunti, Jessica Fischetti, and Sophia Smith, who were recognized in 2019 following the team's first-ever NCAA East Regional Championship.
