Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. – The volleyball team fell in the East Coast Conference Final, 3-0, to the Mavericks of Mercy University this evening from the Neil Judge Athletic Center. The second-seeded Lions sit at 18-9 while the top-seeded Mavericks improve to 20-4 after the contest and will now await the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Selection Show on Monday evening to learn their fate in the NCAA postseason.

How it Happened
- The score would be tied six times in the opening 18 points before back-to-back kills from the Mavericks gave them an 11-9 lead.
- Molloy would come within two again twice but would be unable to overcome the run, surrendering the first set, 25-21.
- Mercy started the second set on an early 9-0 run. From there, the Lions began to claw back on two kills from freshman Haven Trechter,, two from sophomore Isabella Rios, one from graduate student Ilaria Micol Chiericati and a block and kill from graduate student Julia Zalta to come within two, 14-12.
- Once again, the Lions would come within two twice but were unable to overcome the early deficit to give the Mavericks a 2-0 lead headed into the third set.
- Mercy started with a 4-1 lead in the third set, but Molloy would rally from behind to tie the set three times before taking a lead twice following attack errors from the Mavericks.
- Trailing 16-13, a service ace from Rios paired with a kill from senior Teresa Moulder helped Molloy to knot the score at 16.
- The top-seeded Mavericks would score the next eight-straight points to all but seal the contest before a kills from Janneliz Rodriguez Fuentes ultimately gave Mercy the win, the program's first ECC volleyball title since 2001.
Top Performances
- Junior Erin Stanley led the Lions with eight kills. Moulder, Rios, and Trechter all followed with six and Zalta adding five.
- Zalta led with 16 assists and added six digs and two blocks. Junior Hayden Riddle followed with 13 assists.
- Senior Aria Miller led with 12 digs and added three assists.
- Rios and Trechter each tallied five digs while Moulder led the Lions with three blocks.
