Rockville Centre, NY - The volleyball team returned to action from Bob Houlihan Court this afternoon against Chestnut Hill College, falling 3-1. The loss sets the Lions at 1-4 on the season while CHC improves to 2-3.

How it Happened
- The Molloy offense opened with its strongest set of the 2026 campaign, committing just one error and attacking at a .407 clip.
- The home team quickly jumped ahead to a 19-9 lead in the opening set, including four kills from senior Erin Stanley.
- Down the stretch, Stanley added another tally to go with kills from junior Franki Kelleher and freshman Emma Kappaz to help the Lions cruise to a 25-11 victory.
- The second set saw a much more competitive exchange, seeing the score tied on seven occasions, including at 24-24. Molloy was never able to take a lead in the set and the Griffins tied the match at one set each following blocks from Sofia Rodriguez and Parys Boykin and a kill from Macayla Linder.
- Chestnut Hill would lead from open to close again in the third set. Trailing by seven, 18-11, the Lions worked the score back within two as part of a five-point rally that saw two aces from freshman Isabella Smith. The home team would stay within two at three other times late in the third set, but the visitors were able to maintain their advantage headed into the fourth set.
- The first two points of set four would land in favor of the Lions with kills from Kelleher and freshman Laci Smith. CHC would respond with the next five-straight. The early run paired with a match-best .344 attack percentage from the Griffins, would be enough to put the Lions away and earn the match victory.

- Stanley tallied a career-best 17 kills and added five digs and three blocks.
- Freshman Kailie Girard followed with 10 kills.
- Isabella Smith matched a career-best five aces, adding seven assists and five digs.
- Kelleher added three aces to go with six kills and a team-leading four blocks.
- Senior Hayden Riddle notched her first double-double of the season, leading the team in both assists (22) and digs (12).
