Director of Athletics Michael Grasso announced the promotion of Larry Ryan to Head Women's Bowling Coach, effective immediately. 

Ryan, who has spent the past three seasons as an assistant with the program, becoems the third head coach in the program's 12-year history. He succeeds Ian Parisi, who departed for Division I Wagner University, and played an integral role in developing a young Lions' program into perennial East Coast Conference contenders. 

Over the last three seasons, Ryan and the Lions collected 136 wins, most recently coming within one match of an East Coast Conference Championship in 2025-26. 

"Having spent the past three seasons with Molloy, I am excited to take over the head coaching position with established relationships within the program and an understanding of the culture and expectations surrounding both the bowling program and Molloy's mission," said Ryan. 

Prior to Molloy, Ryan spent three seasons as an assistant at local Adelphi University, adding another 136 wins to his ledger, putting him at over 270 career wins. A bowler himself, Ryan has a career high game of 299 and a high series of 813. He also competed at the collegiate level as a member of the tennis team at the University of Central Florida.

Drawing on his professional background in psychology, Ryan's coaching philosophy centers on recognizing the strengths of each student-athlete through communication, individualized development, relationship building, and advocacy. 

"My goal is to continue building a program where our student-athletes understand that success is more than what happens on the lanes," Ryan explained. "I want them to compete at a high level but also grow as students, teammates, leaders, and people. I will emphasize hard work, accountability, communication, and supporting one another while continuing to raise the expectations for our program."
