Ferguson, Naudus Earn Weekly Awards; Six Slated to Honor Roll

Graduate student Marie Naudus was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week and senior Jason Ferguson was tabbed Men's Field Athlete of the Week announced by the conference this afternoon. In addition, juniors Jurrel Hall and Mark Siebenhuener, and sophomores Quinten John, Ava Shepherd, Carli Scheiffele, and Sophia Hines were chosen to the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Naudus was able to establish a program record for the second consecutive week this past Saturday at the Ursinus Springfest. This time, Naudus set the record in the 800-meter with a time of 2:19.05, which was good for a second-place finish among 51 competitors. Naudus also shined in the 1500-meter, securing a second-place finish with a time of 4:42.90. 
 
Ferguson etched his name into the program record books with his performance in the long jump this past Saturday. Ferguson placed third in a field of 28 competitors with a top jump of 7.02 meters. In addition to the program record, Ferguson also set a personal best in the 200-meter, recording a time of 23.06.
 
Junior Jurrel Hall bested a program record that had stood for over a decade at the Ursinus Springfest). Hall established a new program mark in the high jump, recording a top jump of 1.90 meters and finishing sixth among 17 competitors. Hall's success did not end there, as he also earned a third-place finish in the triple jump with a top mark of 13.89 meters. 
 
Siebenhuener ran to a personal-best time in the 200-meter this past Saturday at the Ursinus Springfest. With a time of 22.12, Siebenhuener claimed a third-place finish among 82 competitors.
 
John ran to a fourth-place finish this past Saturday. John finished fourth in the 200-meter with a personal-best time of 22.15 in a field of 82 competitors. 
 
Sophomore Ava Shepherd shined in her performance at the Ursinus Springfest). Shepherd secured a third-place finish in the high jump in a field of nine competitors with a mark of 1.45 meters. She also recorded a personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 10.10 meters.
 
Scheiffele broke her own program record this past Saturday. Scheiffele, who previously held the program record in the steeplechase, improved upon her mark with a time of 11:39.36, shaving over two seconds off her previous record. The record-breaking effort was enough to secure a fourth-place finish in a field of six competitors.
 
Hines had herself an outstanding day at the Ursinus Springfest this past Saturday. Hines ran to a second-place finish in the 100-meter finals with a time of 12.50 in a field of eight competitors.
