About Molloy
  • This is Molloy's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament. Molloy won the program's first-ever ECC Championship with a 15-13 victory over second-seeded mercy on Saturday (May 3).
  • The team got off to a slow start, going 8-1 before March 23. However, four of those contests were decided by just one goal.
  • Molloy has since gone 47 consecutive days without a loss, totaling a streak of nine-straight contests.
  • In total, the Lions have had eight games decided by three goals or fewer, including both the ECC Semifinal and ECC Final.
  • Molloy broke a seven-game losing streak to Roberts Wesleyan to advance to the final against Mercy, beating them for the third time in four meetings.
  • Molloy has both strong offensive and defensive mainstays in seniors Megan Rugolo and Carly Howell. Rugolo is ranked 30th in Division II with 59 goals and 29th in goals per gme at 3.47. She is also top-30 in shots per game (7.82), shots on goal per game (5.59), and points per game (5.00). She accounted for 8 of Molloy's 15 goals (only 1 from free position) and 9 of 17 points in the team's ECC Championship victory, helping her to the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament honors. Carly Howell is ranked 21st in caused turnovers per game at 2.41. The senior has a caused turnover in 17 of 18 contests including 8 game of 3 or more. She also has had a ground ball in 16 games with 7 of 3 or more. She became the program's all-time caused turnover leader, sitting at 111 entering the NCAA Tournament. She also set a single season caused turnover record this season with 44 entering the tournament.
  • In total, the Lions ended with six All-East Coast Conference selections. Rugolo and Howell were joined by senior Sofia Quitoni on the First Team while seniors Alexa Amorison, Reilly Brady, and Brenna Signorelli earned Second Team honors. 

Regarding Dominican
  • Dominican enters the tournament with a staggering 18-1 record, going a perfect 9-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
  • The Chargers earned the top seed of the CACC Tournament and won the program's third-straight CACC Championship.
  • This will be Domiincan's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, representing the first-ever CACC institution in NCAA postseason play.
  • The team has spent a number of weeks in the IWLCA's Top-25 Poll and enter the NCAA Tournament ranked 22nd. 
  • The Chargers rank first in the nation in scoring defense (5.05), scoring margin (13.21), and turnovers per game (10.95) while landing in the top-20 in assists per game (10.47), clearing percentage (.917), draw control percentage (.641), draw controls per game (16.74), points per game (28.74), scoring offense (18.26), shot percentage (.499), shots per game (36.63), shots on goal per game (29.210, and win percentage (.947).
  • Individually, goalkeeper Kristinamarie Ksazovitz leads the country with a goals-against average of 6.20 while Madelyn Grella is the nation's leader in points (164), points per game (8.63), assists (87), and assists per game (4.58). Grace DeStasio is ranked fifth in the nation in goals (82).
  • Eight members of the Chargers were named All-CACC led by Jenna Rigo as Defensive Player of the Year. She was joined on the First Team by DeStasio and Grella along with Erica Ortiz. Erin Carr, Sydney Strohmayer and Kaszovitz were named to the Second Team. Head Coach Rob Grella was selected the Coach of the Year.
