ECC Softball Tournament Preview

ECC Softball Championship Central
 
The third-seeded softball team will compete for the East Coast Conference Championship beginning this afternoon at Spartan Field from Sparkill, N.Y. The tournament will begin with a date against second-seeded Mercy at 2:30 p.m.
 
About Molloy
  • This is the softball team's 15th ECC Tournament appearance in the last 16 seasons and have advanced to the Championship Game in each of the last three-straight.
  • The team ended the regular season with a record of 19-29 overall and 11-9 in league play.
  • The offense is led by seniors Natalie Moussa (.366) and Cheralyn Dusharme (.311) as well as sophomore Stevie Dabbadie (.327), all hitting at over .300 with an OPS of over .800.
  • The duo of Moussa and Dabbadie have also delivered nearly every pitch for the Lions, combining for 20 complete games between the two.
  • As a team, the Lions lead the East Coast Conference in doubles (70), hits (379), and fielding percentage (.962).
 
Regarding the Mavericks
  • Mercy enters the postseason with a 22-20 record, going 12-8 in ECC play.
  • This is the team's fifth-straight ECC Tournament.
  • They are led by Allison Murphy (.338 average with 47 hits and 25 RBI) and Dylan Reyer (.314 average with three triples) at the plate. Murphy is also a base-running threat, going 12-of-14 on stolen bases.
  • In the circle, Skylar Brandemarte has served as the team's ace with a 1.53 ERA with 19 complete games and four shutouts.
 
 
Molloy Against the Field
  • The Lions went 4-8 against the postseason field in 2025, splitting series against both St. Thomas Aquinas and D'Youville.
  • The team will be looking for some retribution in the opening contest against Mercy, who swept the regular season series between the two.
 
Postseason Format
  • The winner of the Molloy/Mercy match up will play the winner of St. Thomas Aquinas/D'Youville on Friday morning.

Thursday, May 1 
Game 1 – 12:00 PM – No. 4 D'Youville vs. No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas
Game 2 – 2:30 PM – No. 3 Molloy vs. No. 2 Mercy

Friday, May 2 
Game 3 – 10:00 AM – Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
Game 4 – 12:30 PM – Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2
Game 5 – 3:00 PM – Loser Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4

Saturday, May 3 
Game 6 – 12:00 PM – Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 5
Game 7 – If Necessary – Game 6 Participants (If winner of Game 5 wins Game 6)
Game would begin 30 minutes after field prep is completed
