Box Score 2 Melbourne, Fla. - The softball team closed out its annual spring break series at the USSSA Space Coast Games with two losses, falling 12-9 to Florida Tech, and 10-0 to #19 Nova Southeastern in five innings. The Lions return home with a 5-9 record.
Game One: Florida Tech 12, Molloy 9
How it Happened
- Redshirt sophomore Alexis Montgomery led off with an infield single. A sacrifice bunt and wild pitch put her 60 feet from home and able to score following an RBI single from senior Cheralyn Dusharme. to the pitcher before junior Emily McGurk's sacrifice bunt moved her into scoring position.
- Sophomore Stevie Dabbadie followed with an RBI double to left field, giving the Lions a 2-0 lead.
- The Panthers took control in the third inning, scoring four runs.
- Molloy responded in the bottom half as senior Natalie Moussa led off with a double.
- Sophomore Mariah Cepeda singled to left center to make it a 4-3 game.
- FIT extended its lead in the fourth as Brooklyn Lorenzo tripled and scored on Kate Rodel's double to center field. Another RBI single pushed the Panthers' lead to 6-3.
- The Panthers exploded for six runs in the top of the sixth, highlighted by a two-run home run.
- The Lions responded with a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning to make it a three-run contest.
- The inning started with a pair of singles from Dabbadie and freshman Megan Wegel and a walk to Cepeda to load the bases.
- In a pinch hit opportunity, freshman Gwen Woodsit sent the ball into left field and drove in two runs.
- Sophomore Amaya Page dug out an infield single, reloading the bases.
- Three walks to Montgomery, Moussa, and Dusharme plated three more runs.
- Back at the top of the line up, Dabbadie had a sacrifice fly to round out the inning and make it 12-9 headed into the final inning.
- A flawless inning from Molloy's defense sent the Lions to the plate hoping to tie the contest or walk it off.
- Singles from Wegel, junior Mae Savage, and Montgomery once again loaded the bases with one out, but Molloy was unable to plate a run to keep the game going.

- Dusharme, Dabbadie, and Woodsit led the offense, driving in two runs apiece.
- Dabbadie, Montgomery, Savage, and Wegel all recorded two hits, including a double from Dabbadie.
- Moussa, Dusharme, Cepeda, Woodsit, and Page each added a single, while Moussa and Cepeda contributed an RBI.
Game Two: #19 Nova Southeastern 10, Molloy 0
How it Happened
- Nova Southeastern's bats went right to work in the top of the second inning, scoring four runs on five hits.
- Dusharme led off in the home half of the inning with a single through the right side, marking the 100th of her Molloy career.
- Freshman pinch runner Casey Kissenger advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch before Cepeda worked a walk. Savage reached on a fielder's choice, but a play at third base ended the inning.
- The Sharks took advantage of a fielding error to plate an additional run in the top of the fourth, making it a 5-0 game.
- Nova Southeastern would take control in the top of the fifth inning, scoring five runs to close out the game 10-0 via the run rule.
