The indoor track and field programs opened the 2025-2026 season yesterday at the Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational, hosted by St. John's University at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Both the men's and women's squads began their seasons on a high note, tallying numerous personal bests and shattering three program records.
Sophomore
Sophia Hines completed the 60 meter dash in record time, ending with a time of 7.93. Hines' performance earned her the program record, dethroning the mark of 7.97 set by Jenna Piller in 2023. Hines also earned a personal-best time in the 200 meter dash, running 25.45. The time aided in securing a fifth-place finish, and first amongst Division II competitors.
Senior
Marie Naudus recorded a time of 10:26.79 to win the 3000 meter run, besting a record set by teammate Healy of 10:28.37 just last season by nearly two full seconds. Healy finished the race just behind Naudus in second-place with a time that also beat her previous record (10:27.35).Â
Freshman
Cameron Campo was the final Lion to have a record setting day, running the 500 meter in 1:17.82, finishing fourth against the field and first among Division II runners. The time erased the previous record of 1:20.40 set by Christi Weber in 2021.Â

David Crews' 6.78m leap in the long jump earned him a second-place finish, while topping Division II competitors.
