West Babylon, N.Y.- The East Coast Conference released the results of its annual Softball Preseason Poll, with Molloy finishing in third-place.
 
St. Thomas Aquinas was selected as the preseason favorite with five first-place votes and a total of 35 points. Mercy was second with one first-place vote, earning 27 points. Molloy was picked third, receiving 23 points. Queens and D'Youville were selected fourth and fifth with 21 and 11 points, respectively. Staten Island was voted sixth with a total of nine points to round out the poll.
 
The Lions return with four upperclassmen and nine total players from the 2024 roster that reached the East Coast Conference Final last season. Among the returners are utility pitcher Stevie Dabbadie, who earned All-ECC First team honors, and catcher Cheralyn Dusharme, who received All-ECC Second Team honors in 2024.  Senior pitcher and first basemen Natalie Moussa was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District a season ago. Head Coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke returns for her 20^th season at Molloy and brings in five freshmen to round out the roster.
 
Molloy begins the season February 15 as they travel to Wingate, N.C. to take on Wingate University at 11 a.m. and Fairmont State University at 1:00 p.m.
