Bronx, N.Y. - The men's and women's cross country teams both returned to the course this afternoon at the Br. Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions, hosted by Iona University at Van Cortlandt Park. Both squad placed sixth in their respective races.
The men's team had a total time of 2:31:27 and scored 171 points. In a field featuring mainly Division I programs, senior
Aiden Watson led the way for the Lions, running a time of 28:44.6 for 41st-place. Senior
Luke Jarski (29:30.7), sophomore Peter Baggatine (29:34.2) and junior
James Nichol (30:25.4) all finished in the top-50.
Freshman Tomothy Harrington (33:12.5), junior Matthew Rathje (33:19.8) and senior
Sean Wilde (35:32.2) all scored for the Lions.
The women's team was paced by a 42nd-place finish from junior
Sabrina Spezia, running the 5k in a time of 20:36.2. Sophomore
Kathleen Healy followed at 20:49.6 for 46th-place, followed by freshman
Carli Sheiffele (21:57.6) and senior
Megan Sohl (22:38.1) finishing back-to-back just outside the top-50.
Junior
Alaysia Cobb (23:58.7) and freshman
Sophia Michaels (24:20.5) each scored for Molloy in the race.
The cardinal and white return to the Long Island area on Saturday (Sept. 21) at the Golden Eagle Invitational at Bethpage State Park. The races are slated to begin at 11:00 a.m.
