The outdoor track and field teams had a busy weekend, competing at both the Silfen Invite in New London, Conn. and the Larry Ellis Invite in Princeton, N.J.
At Silfen, junior
Faith Rousseau took first-place in the shot put with a throw of 11.17-meters. She also took 10th in the javelin with a throw of 28.12 meters. Junior
Megan Sohl placed 12th in the 800-meters with a time of 2:27.14.
On the men's side, junior
Eric Palencia took 11th-place in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 33:06.36 while sophomore
Aiden Watson finished 21st in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:11.11.
At the Larry Ellis Invite, freshman
Jurrel Hall set a new program-record in the long jump with a second-place leap of 6.91 meters. The rookie also did a leap of 13.84 meters in the triple jump for fourth-place. Junior
Eric Anderson placed 13th in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 56.65. Finally, senior
Gianni Macchio finished 19th in the 200-meter with a time of 22.08.
