Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockville Centre, N.Y.- The softball team won its sixth-straight game with a doubleheader sweep against the University of Bridgeport this afternoon, 9-1 and 10-5. The Lions now stand at 13-13 and the Purple Knights fall to 7-17.
 
The softball team welcomed the Cairo family to throw today's first pitch in honor of Autism Awareness Day and were joined by the Farmingdale Little League team for starting lineups and the national anthem.
 
Game One: Molloy 9, Bridgeport 1 (6 Innings)
How it Happened

• The Purple Knights took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a pair of singles and an RBI double from Samantha Schiebe.
• The score would stand until the bottom of the fifth inning, with the Lions combining for three hits through four innings.
• Junior Cheralyn Dusharme started the home half of the fifth inning with a double to right field followed by a walk for freshman Sophia Mariottini.
• Senior Katie Hand knotted the game with a single up the middle. 
• A walk to graduate student Emma Bachman loaded the bases for senior Chrissie Huhn, who gave Molloy a 2-1 lead with a single up the middle.
• The Lions's bats remained hot in the bottom of the sixth inning, plating seven runs on six hits.
• A single from Dusharme, walk to Hand, and double from freshman Sophia Mariottini set the table for RBI singles from sophomore Mae Savage and Huhn.
• A fielder's choice from graduate student Steph Conrade made it 6-1 before graduate student Alex Burns sent the ball flying over the right field fence for a three-run game-ending home run. 

Top Performances

• Burns led the team with three hits, three RBI,  and one stolen base.
• Huhn, Dusharme, and Savage each contributed two hits and two RBI.
• Mariottini, Hand, and Bachman each added hits.
• Mariottini struck out three batters and allowed just one run in a complete-game effort, improving to 7-6 on the season.

Game Two: Molloy 10, Bridgeport 5
How it Happened

• The Lions were quick to put a run on the board, with Conrade legging out an infield single and scored on a single from freshman Stevie Dabbadie.
• The offense continued into the second inning, with a single to Savage and walk to Bachman. RBI singles from Huhn and Conrade made it 4-0. 
• Dabbadie drove in her second run of the game with a single through the left side, setting the score at 5-0 after two innings.
• The Purple Knights scored in the third, pairing two singles and a walk with a fielder's choice RBI from Charlee Horton.
• Savage, Bachman, and Huhn each singled to start the third before Burns drove in two with an infield single.
• A double from Dabbadie set the score at 9-1. 
• An RBI single from Huhn added an insurance run in the fourth.
• Bridgeport staved off a second-straight mercy ruling in the top of the fifth with a two-run home run from Isabella Benjamin, a two bases-loaded walks to Madison D'Amato and Isabella Porcaro, bringing the visitors back with six, 10-4.
• A solo home run from Angeloa Oros made it 10-5, but Dabbadie recorded the game's final out.

Top Performances

• Dabbadie drove in four runs in a 3-for-4 afternoon at the plate.
• Huhn, Conrade, and Savage each tallied three hits and drove in two runs. 
• Dusharme and Bachman had two hits.
• Junior Natalie Moussa improved to 3-0 with the win.
