Box Score Saint Leo, Fla. – The women's lacrosse team fell to RV Saint Leo University this evening, 14-13. The Lions sit at 4-2 on the season following the loss.

How it Happened

• Saint Leo took an early 1-0 lead 15 seconds into the contest before junior Alexa Amorison knotted the contest.
• The next two goals belonged to Saint Leo before junior Brenna Signorelli scored back-to-back markers to knot the score with seven minutes left in the opening frame.
• The quarter would end tied 4-4 with Rugolo netting her first of the evening.
• Junior Sofia Quitoni kicked off scoring in the second quarter before Rugolo converted a successful extra-woman opportunity to give the Lions a 6-4 lead midway through the quarter.
• The home team would come within one before senior Erin Murphy scored to end the half with Molloy in front, 7-5.
• Nearly nine minutes would pass in the third quarter before freshman Brooke Grossjung scored to make it 8-5.
• The home Lions would score the final four goals of the quarter to take a 9-8 lead.
• Senior Joanna Mauceri and Rugolo both scored in the first four minutes of the final frame to tie the contest at 10.
• Rugolo, Quitoni, and Amorison would all score within two minutes of one another to take a 13-11 lead with less than nine minutes to play in the contest.
• The next four goals would come from Saint Leo, including a free position goal with 40 seconds on the clock to put them ahead, 14-13, and clinch the victory.

Top Performances

• Rugolo led with five points on four goals and one assist. The attacker also controlled five draws to go with two ground balls.
• Quitoni had two goals and one assist for three points while Signorelli and Amorison each netted two goals for two points and Mauceri had a goal and an assist.
• Murphy and Grossjung had one goal each with freshman Victoria Bustamante added an assist.
• Mauceri and junior Reilly Brady each controlled four draws.
• Senior goalie Mary-Kate Sweeny led with a career-high seven ground balls and matched a career-high 12 saves in the loss.
• Amorison and Brady followed with three ground balls each.
• Brady, senior Jessica Kofod, and junior Carly Howell led with two caused turnovers.
