Staten Island, N.Y. - The 2023-24 indoor track and field season was capped off at the East Coast Conference Championship at the Ocean Breeze Center. The men's squad placed third with 67 points, the highest showing since winning the title in 2013-14, while the women's team finished seventh with 22 points.
The cardinal and white had 11 student-athletes earn All-Conference distinction in a total of nine events. The evening was highlighted by
Schnyder Germain winning the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:06.58. He was followed by
Emmanouil Paravalos, both of which receiving First Team honors.
The pair combined with
Eric Anderson and
Christian Canela for second-place and Second Team honors in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:21.97. Canela also earned Second Team in the 400-meter dash, finishing in fourth-place with a time of 50.88 seconds.
The men's team also saw Second Team performances from
Gianni Macchio (6.99, 60-meter dash),
Peter Bagattine (15:55.40, 5000-meter run),
Eric Palencia (16:09.44, 5000-meter run), and
Jurrel Hall (13.68 m, triple jump).
In addition,
David Crews led the way for Molloy in the long jump, setting a program-record with a leap of 6.85 meters for sixth-place.
On the women's side, the Lions saw three All-Conference Second Team showings from
Kathleen Healy (5:29.91, mile),
Isabella Fortaleza (2.90 m, pole vault), and
Faith Rousseau (11.10 m, shot put).
