Women's Bowling

Women’s Bowling Competes at CSU Lady Eagles Invitational

Gwynn Oak, Md. – The Molloy women's bowling team competed at the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Coppin State University. The Lions placed 10th over the course of the two-day tournament with a total pinfall of 8,071 pins and an average of 171.7.
 
Day One – Traditional
  • The Lions began the tournament against Fayetteville State, picking up a 907-763 victory over the Broncos paced by freshman Ilana Kaplan who posted a high game of 204.
  • Molloy would continue its winning way in match two against Virginia State, earning a 884-574 triumph. Freshman Michaela Palumbo topped the squad rolling a 205 game.
  • The cardinal and white would pick up its third straight match victory in match three, topping Howard, 981-858. Once again it would be Kaplan who would set the tone, collecting a 245 high game to lead the team.
  • The keglers would fall in matches four and five to Coppin State, 919-857, and Norfolk State, 881-769, to go 3-2 heading into baker play.
Day Two – Baker
  • Molloy opened baker play with a 880-729 victory over Virginia Union before falling to Mount St. Mary's, 957-754.
  • The cardinal and white would now turn to baker bracket play, facing Norfolk State in round one. The Lions would triumph over the Spartans, 4-2, rolling a high game of 200 en route to the triumph.
  • The keglers would go on to face Caldwell in round two, but would fall, 4-2, in a close knit best-of-seven in which three games were decided by two pins or less.
