The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) released the results of the 2023 women's soccer All-East Region teams, with senior
Sarah Tappeto being named to the First Team and graduate student
Lauren Marinello and sophomore
Olivia Ingenito being named to the Second Team.
After collecting East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-ECC First Team honors, Tappeto now garners three All-Region selections and her second consecutive First Team honor. The senior started in all 22 contests for the Lions and finished second on the team with 20 points scoring seven goals and dishing out six assists. During the season, the Merrick native collected 1,962 minutes of time on the pitch and led the conference with four game-winning goals while being part of a backline that averaged 0.91 goals against per contest.
After returning to the field during the third game of the season, Marinello adds her first All-Region nod in 2023. Appearing in 18 games and starting in 17 contests, the All-ECC Second Team selection finished fourth in points (13) totaling four goals and five assists. The two-way midfielder was a catalyst upon her return, providing leadership to a young midfielding unit that featured three freshmen.
Ingenito joins Marinello on the Second Team after a standout sophomore campaign. The forward appeared in all 22 games and made starts in nine contests, leading the team with 22 points on 11 goals good for 36
th in all of Division II. The All-ECC First Team honoree collected two multi-goal games, tallied two game-winning goals, and found the back of the net in eight contests.
