Wilmington, Del. – The Molloy women's bowling team opened the 2023-24 campaign with a fourth place showing at the Bud Whitman Memorial Tournament, hosted by Chestnut Hill College. The Lions went 6-3 over the course of the two-day tournament, with a total pinfall of 8,686 pins and an average of 173.7.
Day One – Traditional Format
- The Lions were tested on the lanes right away, edging Wilmington University, 903-899, to open day one.
- Molloy rode the momentum into the second match with a 892-751 victory over Caldwell.
- LIU was able to halt the Lions in the third game, 956-760, for its only loss of the afternoon.
- The cardinal and white ended day one with victories over Adelphi, 831-763, and Coppin State, 968-729, sitting in fourth after the first day of competition.
Day Two – Baker Format
- The strong start fed into the second day of competition where the format shifted to Baker, where five players are responsible for two of the 10 frames in each game.
- Molloy opened day two against Saint Anselm where the two teams were tied at 883 apiece after 10 frames, sending the match to a five frame roll off. The Lions would top the Hawks in the roll off to pull out the victory.
- The Keglers continued to roll the ball well, taking down Felician, 875-837, in the second match.
- The cardinal and white would face Kutztown before bracket play where they would fall, 896-828.
- The Lions would face Wilmington in bracket play where they would slip to the Wildcats, 4-1, to finish in fourth-place.
