Croydon, Pa. - The women's bowling team competed against some of the nation's top programs in the opening two days of the Northeast Classic, hosted by Sacred Heart University.
Day One - Baker
- Molloy faced #12 Medaille, falling 932-863.
- Next up, the Lions matched up against #12 Louisiana Tech, falling behind 962-859.
- #2 Sam Houston State University bested the squad, 1029-894 before Molloy faced an East Coast Conference showdown against #7 Kutztown, with the Bears earning a 976-847 victory.
- The opening day of play concluded with a loss to the nation's top seed in #1 McKendree, 988-836.
Day Two - Traditional
- Molloy's weekend of nationally-ranked programs continued against #5 Maryville. Despite 189 pins from junior Christie Warmingham, the Lions fell by just 24 pins, 846,822.
- Senior Jenn Bisogno knocked down 190 pins in maroon and white's 913-837 loss to #9 Youngstown State Universitry.
- Warmingham and sophomore Amanda Kreush each recorded 192 pins against #2 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, but the Lions fell, 997-858.
- Warmingham totaled 200 pins while Kreush and sophomore Goldera Surles each tossed games of 178 against the defending National Champions in #8 Stephen F. Austin, but the effort fell short, 1013-902.
- The afternoon came to a close in a 993-779 defeat by #5 Vanderbilt University, despite 182 pins from Kreush.
Molloy heads into a best-of-seven Baker tournament to conclude the tournament tomorrow (Jan. 19) with an NCAA record of 24-26.
