Seaford, N.Y. - The women's rugby team opened the 2019 campaign this afternoon against Colby Sawyer from Cedar Creek Park, falling 94-5.
How it Happened
Coach's Comments
"We learned a lot today. We had 6 players play in their first game" explained head coach
Melissa Olman. "Three players that stood out were
Kaitlyn Snyder,
Jen Hernandez, and
Olivia Sturiano. Kaitlyn always looked like a threat to break the line with ball in hand and defensively she hit her tackles. Olivia and Kaitlyn worked well together in the backline connecting well on switches and passes. Jen was aggressive getting to rucks and showed us a lot of improvement since last season. Although this is not the result we wanted, spirits were high after the match. We look forward to growing over the season."
