Brunswick, Maine – The women's rugby program traveled to Bowdoin College to take on the Polar Bears. Officially, the Lions were victorious 28-0 due to Bowdoin taking a late forfeit, not having enough players to participate. The two teams then played to a 17-17 tie in a 10 vs. 10 exhibition contest.
 
How it Happened

• The Lions kicked off the afternoon with a try from graduate student Caroline Nickels to go up, 5-0, in the first minute of play.
• Bowdoin responded with a try of its own, but Nickels found the try zone again with 2:30 left to play in the opening half.
• The Polar Bears ended the first half with a try and successful conversion to take a 12-10 lead into the break.
• The home team added a third try mid-way through the second half to take a 17-10 lead.
• Nickels scored her third try of the afternoon to end the game, setting the score at 17-15. Sophomore Olivia Sturiano's successful conversion attempt tied the contest, 17-17.

 
The Lions return home to Cedar Creek Park on Saturday (Oct. 27) against Sacred Heart University at 2:00 p.m. Prior to kick-off, the team will recognize the members of its graduating class in a pre-game ceremony.
