ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (May 23, 2017) – The NCAA Division II Softball Championship bracket was released this week, with the Lions earning the fifth seed. Molloy (37-16) will face #4 West Virginia Wesleyan (49-8) in the team's opening game at the College World Series on Thursday (May 25) at 1:30 p.m.

Makayla Harris (Berlin, Conn.) sealed the game for Molloy with a walk-off single to right field.
The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats defeated Virginia-Wise to claim the Mountain East Conference title before becoming Champions of the Atlantic region with a 10-1 victory over West Chester University of Pennsylvania in five innings. Tori Pogue (Glendale, Ariz.) leads the team and Mountain East, batting .424 on the season, totaling 67 runs, 86 hits, and 28 stolen bases.
On Friday (May 26), Molloy will face either top-ranked Angelo State (57-5) of the South Central Region or eighth-seeded Humboldt State (43-13) of the West Region. The other side of the bracket features #2 MSU-Mankato (59-7) of the Central Region, #3 Armstrong (36-12) of the Southeast Region, #6 West Florida (45-13) of the South Region, and #7 Southern Indiana (46-12) of the Midwest Region.
