Philadelphia, Pa. - The softball team improved to 8-20 on the season following a doubleheader split this afternoon against the Rams of Jefferson. Molloy took the first game in five innings by a score of 11-2 before falling 7-4 in the second game.

Game One: Molloy 11, Jefferson 2 (5 innings)

• The Rams would be first on the board, taking advantage of a lead-off single from Rozalee Negron, a sacrifice bunt, and a fielding error in the outfield to lead 1-0.
• The Lions took advantage of fielding errors from the Jefferson outfield the following inning to put a runner in scoring position for junior Mariah Cepeda, who picked up her second RBI of the season with a double to center field. 
• Defensive struggles in left field continued for the Rams, allowing another two runs to score to increase the Lions' lead to 3-1. 
• Senior Emily McGurl added a run on single to left field before a throwing error made it 5-1.
• Freshman Skyler Secondino capped off a six-run second inning with a single through the right side. 
• A double from Lily Hutt worked the Rams back within four in the third, 6-2.
• The Molloy offense came to life again in the fourth inning, scoring four more runs on six hits. Secondino, Cepeda, sophomore Casey Kissinger, and senior Mae Savage each picked up RBIs in the effort.
• McGurk led with three hits, including one for extra bases. Savage (2-for-4) and sophomore Megan Wegel (2-for-4) each had two hits.
• Secondino (1-for-3), Cepeda (2-for-3), and Kissinger (1-for-1) each drove in two runs. 
• Junior Stevie Dabbadie tossed a complete game with four strikeouts and allowed just three hits. 

Game Two: Jefferson 7, Molloy 4

• It would be Molloy's turn to strike first in game two. Savage led off with a double before scoring on an outfield single from Wegel.
• Cepeda doubled the lead with an RBI single of her own. 
• The Rams exploded to life in the home half of the second inning, plating four runs on seven hits to take a 4-2 lead.
• A lead-off triple from Mackenzie Ward would set up Hutt for a sacrifice fly to make it 5-2 after two innings. 
• A single from McGurk and walk to Wegel set up Cepeda for her second RBI of the game with a double to left field. Secondino brought the Lions within one by pushing a single through the left side to make it 5-4. 
• Caitlyn Senkow rounded out the scoring with a triple in the fourth, scoring on a throwing error. 
• Cepeda matched a career-high three hits (3-for-4) and drove in a team-leading two runs. 
• McGurk (2-for-4) and Wegel (2-for-4) each had two hits.
