Tonight, the women's basketball team makes the third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, earning a five-seed in the East Regional Tournament after winning the East Coast Conference last week. The Lions, who currently match a program-best 22-8 record, will face the fourth-seeded Cougars of Caldwell University.

The game will be a rematch from earlier in the season, where Molloy picked up an 81-76 victory on the road. In the victory, graduate students Kamala Thompson (Selden, N.Y.) and Symone Kelly (Wyandanch, N.Y.) picked up double-doubled while sophomore Ihnacinse Grady (Amityville, N.Y.) and senior Aliyah McDonald (Hempstead, N.Y.) each also finished in double-digits. Thompson pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and scored 17 points while Kelly scored a season-high 23 points with 11 rebounds. The Cougars were led by Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.), who scored 21 points to go with eight boards. Andie Lennon (Secaucus, N.J.) and Maura Kelty (Barrington, R.I.) tallied 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Since the last meeting, Molloy has gone 13-4, beating New York Institute of Technology on Sunday (Mar. 5) to win the ECC Championship. McDonald was named Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament and All-ECC Second Team while Thompson received First Team recognition from the conference. Caldwell went on to have a record-setting performance, going 15-2 after their tilt with the Lions for a 25-5 record on the campaign. The Cougars won the North Division of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, but ultimately fell 72-57 to University of the Sciences, the winner of the South Division.  Drogsler was named the CACC Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team while Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.) was named Second Team. Head Coach Kristina Danella was also named Coach of the Year.

The winner of this evening's contest will go on to face the winner of #1 Adelphi vs. #8 New York Institute of Technology tomorrow (Mar. 11) at 7:30 p.m.
