Caroline Nickels (Floral Park, N.Y.) scored two tries to lead the Lions in a 17-17 draw for women's rugby at LIU Post.
Molloy jumped out to an early 12-0 lead in the first half, as senior
Nizabeta Deljanin (Westbury, N.Y.) and Nickels scored tries within one minute of each other while junior
Siobhan Coady (Floral Park, N.Y.) added a conversion kick.
In the second half, the Pioneers tied the game, scoring two tries and adding a conversion of their own.
Nickels scored her second try with 1:56 left to play in the game to give the maroon and white the 17-12 lead. With just 20 seconds on the clock Kelsey Silver scored her second try of the afternoon to tie the game.
Time expired with the score knotted, and the game ended as a draw.
The Lions now sit at 2-1-1 on the year as they face Castleton University on Saturday (Oct. 7) at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Park.
