The East Coast Conference released the results of its weekly awards with Molloy receiving five total selections. Highlighting the week was senior
John Basile earning the Goalie of the Week distinction for men's lacrosse for the second time this season.
Basile racked up 28 saves in a 1-1 week for the Lions. The senior stopped a career-high 21 shots against #3 Saint Anselm, adding two ground balls and a caused turnover.
Senior
Tommy Corcoron also earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll for his performance on the week, totaling five points. The attacker led the team against Saint Anselm with four points on three goals and an assist while also picking up two ground balls.
For women's lacrosse, sophomore
Ava Benasutti was also named to the Weekly Honor Roll. The midfielder was the anchor of the Molloy offense, accounting for five points and seven draw controls. She led the team with three points on two goals and an assist against Georgian Court before adding two goals at Southern New Hampshire to end the week.
For the baseball team, senior
Sean Welsh and junior
James Sill were both tabbed to the Weekly Honor Roll. Welsh continued to stay hot at the heart of the Lions' order in a 2-1 week. The senior collected a pair of multi-hit games, highlighted by reaching base in all five at bats on Sunday with three hits and two walks. Welsh has extended his hitting streak to eight games and has driven in a run in his last four contests. On the week, the first baseman hit .545 (6-for-11), slugged at .636, and drove in four runs while getting on base at a .643 clip.
Sill improved to 2-1 on the year in Molloy's win on Friday over Post. The junior tossed six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out eight batters.
