Mount Joy, Pa. – The Molloy women's bowling team competed at the Mount Shootout from Friday, February 6 through Sunday, February 8 hosted by Mount St. Mary's. After 10 games of qualifying, the Lions finished with a 6-4 record totaling 9,599 pins to average 192.0. After bracket bakers, Molloy completed the weekend in 10
th-place.
Day One – Baker Format
- The Lions began Friday recording two victories against Holy Family, 1,002-958, and Alvernia, 1,014-877. 1,014 pins served as the squads' highest pin total in baker play.
- The keglers were set to face 22nd-ranked Duquesne in the third match. After holding a 20-pin advantage heading into the final game, the Dukes recorded the first seven strikes in a row to start the game and defeat the Lions, 995-966.
- The cardinal and white concluded the afternoon with a narrow, 947-934, triumph over Morgan State before finishing the day taking down Mercyhurst, 952-905, to finish 4-1 on the day.
Day Two – Traditional Format
- Molloy matched up with host and ninth-ranked Mount St. Mary's to begin Saturday, falling, 1,075-991. The Lions took on Kutztown in the second match slipping, 945-924.
- The cardinal and white rebounded to pick up consecutive victories over Wagner, 941-579, and Howard, 941-927.
- The keglers wrapped up Saturday against eighth-ranked and eventual champion Niagara where they would slip, 1,086-915.
Day Three – Baker Bracket
- Sunday was set for a trio of bracket baker play matches.
- Molloy started the day with a 4-2 victory over Morgan State to stay in the winner's bracket.
- The Lions would go on to face Kutztown for the third time of the weekend and would come up short, 4-2.
- The cardinal and white rematched with Morgan State in the day's final match and would not be able to overcome an early deficit, falling to the Bears, 4-1, to finish 10th.
