About the Lions:
  • The Lions kick off mid-January 4-11 overall and 2-2 in East Coast Conference play.
  • Molloy went 1-0 last week, topping Queens, 65-61, Saturday, January 10
  • In the victory, senior Sophia Yearwood led all scoreres with 21 points, including five three-pointers in the first half, senior Colleen McCullagh totaled a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds, senior Rosa Rizzitelli added 17 points, and sophomore Jamie Davneiro had a career-best game with a team leading nine assists and added three steals.
D'Youville:
  • The Saints enter the week 7-7 overall and 4-2 against ECC opponents
  • D'Youville went 1-1 last week, falling to Staten Island, 49-38, Friday, January 9 before defeating UDC, 68-60, Sunday, January 11.
  • Molly O'Toole leads the squad averaging 14.3 points and 7.2 assists per game. The squad hoists two players shooting 50 percent from the field, Alyssa Neumann and Morgan Giancaterino.
  • The two programs met last month in Buffalo, with the Saints coming away with a 89-79 victory over the Lions Friday, December 5.
  • Molloy is 6-4 all-time against D'Youville.
#23 Daemen:
  • The Wildcats begin the week ranked 23rd in the country holding a 13-2 overall record and a 6-0 record in league play.
  • Daemen went 2-0 last week, defeating UDC, 67-54, Friday, January 9 and Staten Island, 78-52, Sunday, January 11.
  • Ne'vaeh Buntley leads all scorers averaging 15.5 points per game. Through 12 games played, Cecilia Lapertosa tops the squad averaging seven rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor.
  • The Lions and Wildcats go together in Amherst earlier this season with the Wildcats earning a 78-66 victory Sunday, December 7.
  • Molloy is 4-23 all-time vs. Daemen.

Regarding Molloy:
  • The Lions come into the week 2-12 overall and 2-2 against East Coast Conference foes.
  • Molloy went 1-0 last week, taking down Queens, 87-78, Saturday, January 10.
  • In the contest, sophomore Dylan Kopp scored a game-high 22 points, junior Bryce Merchant collected 20 points on 75 shooting while securing a team-high seven rebounds, freshman Chase Timberlake tallied 17 points, grabbed five rebounds, and tied a team-high five assists.
  • Redshirt senior Seydina Mohamed Dieng tied a career-high 14 points while swiping five steals.
D'Youville:
  • The Saints hold a 3-11 overall record and are 3-3 in East Coast Conference play.
  • D'Youville went 1-1 last week, falling to Staten Island, 77-70, Friday, Janaury 9 before taking down UDC, 82-60, Sunday, January 11.
  • Elisha Warren sits atop the squad averaging 17.9 points per game while also leading the team in shooting percentage (50%), rebounds per game (6.8) and free throw percentage (83%).
  • The Lions traveled to Buffalo in December with the Saints triumphing, 82-79, Friday, December 5.
  • Molloy is 7-3 all-time against D'Youville.
#2 Daemen:
  • The Wildcats begin the week ranked second in the nation holding an unblemished 18-0 overall record and a perfect 6-0 conference record.
  • Daemen went 2-0 last week, picking up wins over UDC, 85-47, Friday, January 9 and Staten Island, 88-70, Sunday, January 11.
  • The squad sports four scoring at least 10 points per game: Zach Philipkoski (18.1), Benjamin Bill (17.5), Justin Hemphill (10.9), Justin Glover (10.8), and Ryan Heath (10.2).
  • The Lions fell to the Wildcats earlier this season, 94-62, Sunday, December 7.
  • Molloy is 8-17 all-time against Daemen.
Women's Bowling (26-13)
Friday, January 16 – Sunday, January 18 at Northeast Classic – Wilmington, Del.
 
Scouting the Lions:
  • Molloy returns to the lanes for the first time since Sunday, November 23 at the Garden State Classic.
  • At the event, the cardinal and white went 8-5 totaling 10,602 pins to average 176.7 finishing in ninth place.
  • Senior Megan Guarascio led the squad in traditional play, rolling a 756 four-game series to average 189 placing 18th overall. 
Track and Field
Saturday, January 17 at Wagner Invitational – 10:00 a.m. – Staten Island, N.Y.
 
Introducing Molloy:
  • The Lions returned to action for the 2026 portion of its schedule at the Spartan Invitational on Sunday.
  • For the second-straight meet, the men's team established a new program-record in the weight throw. Junior Amir Carter-Thomas recorded a throw of 13.90 meters, besting the mark set by freshman teammate Djurabe Edmond just a month ago by nearly a full meter. Edmond also bested his own record, finishing right behind Carter-Thomas at 13.85 meters. 
  • On the women's side, the distance medley relay team of seniors Kathleen Healy and Alaysia Cobb, graduate student Marie Naudus, and freshman Martina Mileti not only took first-place, but shattered the previous program-record by nearly 30 seconds, clocking in at 12:36.98.
