The men's and women's cross country teams returned to the course this afternoon at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College at Mt. Greylock Regional School. The men placed fourth while the women finished fifth.
Sophomore
Carli Sheiffele led the team with a 6k time of 25:20.6. Freshman
Martina Mileti followed her with a time of 26:02.7. Senior
Alaysia Cobb was next with a time of 26:22.2.

Anelisa Fulgieri (27:41.8) and sophomore
Sophia Michaels (29:51.4) were the next finishers. Rounding out the women's side, freshman
Maggie Schiffer (31:37.7) and freshman
Kate Mejia (32:06.0) concluded the event.

On the men's side, senior
James Nichol led the way with a 8k time of 28:47.8. Finishing behind him was freshman
MiKai Marks (29:48.4), freshman
John Abad (30:54.5), and junior
Peter Bagattine (31:00.0).

Senior Matthew Rathje finished with a time of 33:03.7. Freshman
Jack Vahey and
Christopher Diaz finished with times of 33:35.2 and 34:45.3, respectively.

Both teams will return to action on Friday (Oct. 4) at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University, from Bethlehem, Pa.
