Kings Park, N.Y. - Both cross country teams competed this morning at the East Coast Conference Championship at Sunken Meadow State Park. For the second-straight season, the men's team finished in third-place with 88 points while the women's team moved up one position to second-place with 67 points.
For the second-straight meet, the women's cross country team had three runners finish in the top-10 of the field. They were led by senior
Kathleen Healy (19:13.20, third-place) and sophomore
Carli Sheiffele (19:29.10, seventh-place), who both finished inside the top-seven for All-Conference First Team recognition. Senior
Marie Naudus placed 10th with a time of 19:50.20 for All-Conference Second Team. Rounding out Molloy's scorers were senior
Alaysia Cobb (20:50.60) and freshman
Martina Mileti (21:08.00).Â
On the men's side, freshman
Anthony Baldasano earned All-Conference Second Team recognition with a time of 27:54.60 for 11th-place. Junior
Peter Bagattine (28:43.10), freshmen Mikai Marks (28:52.90) and
John Abad (29:48.60), and senior
James Nichol (29:32.50) all scored for the Lions.Â
Both squads will return to the course on November 8 at the NCAA East Regional race from Hopkinton, N.H.
