About Molloy:
  • The Lions enter the week and even 1-1-1, picking up both a win and a loss in the second week of the season. Molloy topped the Tigers of Holy Family University, 2-0, before falling in a late 1-0 decision to the Greyhounds of Assumption University.
  • Newcomers Benjamin Bern and Aidan Kolbe scored the goals for Molloy against the Tigers and account for the team's lone goals of the season thus far. 
  • Callum Hunt has remained sharp in net, allowing just one goal thus far on 11 shots to date. The sophomore nearly earned his third-straight shutout before the Greyhounds scored in the 83rd minute of Saturday's contest.
Regarding Adelphi:
  • The Panthers will also enter the contest with a record of 1-1-1, topping Mercy 3-0 earlier last week before falling to #18 East Stroudsburg, 2-1.
  • Matthew Murphy leads Adelphi's offense with four points on one goal and two assists, putting up one of each in the win over the Mavericks.
  • In total, the Panthers have seen goals from five different individuals through the first three games.
  • Goalkeeper Andrea Farinella has seen the bulk of the minutes in net, making 13 stops on 20 shots for a 1.05 goals-against average. 
American International:
  • The Yellow Jackets enter the third week of the season searching for their first win of 2025 with a record of 0-1-2. 
  • Most recently, AIC played to a 3-3 tie at D'Youville. 
  • Pietro Botasso and Tyler Ferreira have each scored a pair of goals on the season.
  • Javier Sola Martinez has allowed five goals on 23 shots for a 1.67 goals-against average.

On the Lions:
  • Molloy went 3-0 on the week to improve to 6-1 on the campaign. The Lions topped Bridgeport 3-1, edged out West Chester in a 3-2 victory that handed the Golden Rams their first set losses of the season, and swept Felician 3-0.
  • The contests this week will be the team's first contests away from Bob Houlihan Court.
  • Haven Trechter (68), Isabella Rios (65), Julia Zalta (65), and Erin Stanley (60) are leading the Lions in kills, all averaging over 2.40 per set. Zalta is also leading the squad with 155 assists (6.20 per set) and 15 aces (0.60 per set).
  • Defensively, Stanley and Ilaria Micol Chiericati have both totaled 19 blocks with Teresa Moulder adding 13.
  • Aria Miller has led the back row with 124 digs, averaging just under five per set. 
Pace:
  • The Setters have started the season with a 4-1 record. This week, Pace picked up a pair of sweeps over both Lincoln and Georgian Court. The team's lone loss of the season comes against Mercy.
  • Kadence Ackmann leads Pace with 46 kills. Keelah Chambliss follows with 35. Both are averaging at least 2.50 kills per set.
  • Aralyn Saulys has totaled 93 assists, averaging 5.47 per set. Alice Bender's 13 service aces lead the Setters.
  • Defensively, Emily Cineus is the far and away leader with 16 blocks, averaging 1.00 per set. 
  • Bender and Ackmann both average over 2.75 digs per set at 66 and 44, respectively. 
Bentley:
  • Bentley will enter the week at an even 4-4. 
  • This past week, the Falcons competed at the Colorado Premier Challenge in Denver, falling to three top-15 programs (#5 West Texas A&M 3-1, #15 Point Loma 3-1, and #2 Angelo State 3-0). Bentley did top Lewis, 3-1, to walk away with a 1-3 record on the week.
  • The Falcons' other loss on the season also came against a nationally-ranked program in #12 Nebraska Kearney.
  • Lulu Pavan (85) and Sophia Poehlein (83) both enter the week averaging over 3.00 kills per set for the hitters while Tory Vitko's 253 assists averages a blistering 9.04 per set. 
  • Bentley has three with double digit service aces: Pavan (10), Lauren Hallas (12), and Elizabeth Blinn (14).
  • Blinn also is the far and away blocking leader with 43, averaging over 1.50 per set. Vitko, Sasha Luzina, and Sofia Zingariello are all topping two digs per set.
American International:
  • The Yellow Jackets enter the week with a 2-2 record, but have not played since the opening weekend.
  • AIC split at a tournament hosted by Clarion, taking a five-set victory from the host before sweeping Roberts Wesleyan the following day. The losses came against Seton Hill (3-2) and Shippensburg (3-1).
  • Janelys Perez Cortes (39), Paola Soto Burgos (32), and Jelena Milovanovic (29) are the kill leaders for AIC. Danielle Russo-Lolas leads with 124 assists and nine aces.
  • Renata Mijovic tops the team with 19 blocks while Perla Rosa and Claudia Flores Marrero both have topped 50 digs and average more than three per set.
Bridgeport:
  • The Purple Knights enter the week searching for the team's first win of 2025.
  • Bridgeport had a crowded week last week, playing five games - the loss at Molloy followed by a trip to Texas that saw three-set losses to Southern Arkansas, Southeastern Oklahoma, St. Martin's, and Texas A&M Kingsville. 
  • Hailey Jessen leads the hitters with52 kills, averaging 3.06 per set. Ava Casales is averaging 4.95 assists per set.
  • Defensively, Analdys Abreu and Lucia Tomiello both have 10 blocks while Elaine DeLallo leads with 68 digs.

About Molloy:
  • The Lions picked up the team's first win of 2025 this week, topping Goldey-Beacom 3-0. Earlier in the week, the team played to a scoreless draw against Caldwell.
  • Olivia Ingenito netted two goals in the win over the Lightning with Bella Juliano adding the third. 
  • On the season, Ingenito's two goals lead the team. Jana Strait has a goal and an assist on the campaign to add three points.
  • Elyse Munoz has made six stops on 10 shots, putting up a 1.05 goals-against average.
Franklin Pierce:
  • The Ravens are currently ranked sixth in Division II after falling in the National Semifinal a season ago.
  • The team has yet to give up a goal in 2025 and has scored four or more goals in each of the three contests to date. 
  • Jenni Huttunen leads with nine points on four goals and one assist. Olivia Crespo, Martin Grace, and Mari Heiskanen have each scored a pair of goals for the Ravens.
  • Jess LaCroix has had three shutouts and totaled five saves. 
Mercy:
  • The Mavericks have also yet to lose a contest in 2025 and enter the week with a 3-0 record.
  • Mercy has had two 3-0 shutouts on the season, Goldey-Beacom and Chestnut Hill. The Mavericks have only given up a goal to Dominican in a 5-1 victory. 
  • Hailey Metzger leads the Mavericks with nine points on three goals and three assists; Ancksu Dixon has four goals.
  • Anneliese Becker has made four saves with two shutouts, allowing just one goal for a 0.35 goals-against average. 

Field Hockey (1-3)

Regarding Molloy:
  • The Lions went 0-2 on the week last week, falling to Adelphi, 6-0, and Maryville, 3-1. 
  • Samantha Naples accounted for the lone goal for Molloy, scoring on a penalty stroke.
  • Kayla Balsamo has made 31 saves on the week, putting up a 2.39 goals-against average. 
Bentley:
  • The Falcons enter the week looking for the first win of 2025. This past week, they fell to Saint Anselm, 2-1, and East Stroudsburg, 3-0. 
  • Madeline Krepelka netted the lone goal for the Falcons.
  • Annie Lorenz has made 33 saves on the year, averaging a 2.77 goals-against average.

Cross Country
Saturday, September 20 at Purple Valley Classic | Williams, Mass.
  • Both cross country teams had successful showings at the Golden Eagle Invitational. For the second-straight season the women's team took home first-place while the men's team finished third. 
  • Peter Bagattine won the men's race with an 8k time of 28:22.00. Carli Sheiffele topped the women's racers with a second-place time in the 5k of 19:36.70.
