Waltham, Mass. – The field hockey team dropped its first Northeast-10 Conference match up of the season, falling 5-0 to Bentley University. With the result, the Lions move to 1-4 overall (0-1 NE10), while the Falcons improve to 2-4 (1-0 NE10).
How it Happened
- The Falcons struck quickly, netting two goals within the first five minutes of play.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Kayla Balsamo came up with back-to-back saves two minutes later to close out the opening quarter.
- Bentley extended its lead to 4-0 in the second, with Lilly Cook scoring off a feed from Nina Husak and Gracie Moore finishing a pass from Madeline Krepelka.
- Krepelka then connected with McKenzie Carey to open the third quarter with the Falcons' fifth goal of the afternoon.
- The Lions saw three corner opportunities in the following few minutes where freshman Katie Ogurick had a shot saved by Hawks goalie Annie Lorenz and senior Nikki Longhitano sent an attempt wide.
- Bentley forced a corner in the 44th minute of the contest, but the Falcons were denied with one shot blocked and another stopped by junior goalkeeper Kayla Monique Lipscomb.
- Lipscomb recorded two more saves to keep the Falcons scoreless in the final quarter.

- Balsamo totaled seven saves in goal.
- Lipscomb added five saves in her first appearance of the season.
- Longhitano and Ogurick each registered one shot apiece.
