The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association announced its 2024-25 All-Metropolitan teams this week. Members of both the men's and women's basketball team garnered selections as among the best among Division II players in the metropolitan area.
Sophomore
Rob Matos earned his first All-Met nod, being named to the First Team. The guard was tabbed an All-East Coast Conference First Teamer at the conclusion of the regular season, ranking fifth in the nation at 24.7 points per game including shooting .454 from the field and .377 from long distance. On the season, he topped 20 points in 23 of 28 games, including making double digit field goals in eight contests. This season, he reached the 1000 point marker, doing so in his 45th career contest.
Senior
Samantha Muller was named an Honorable Mention for her successful final campaign in cardinal and white. The guard was named All-ECC Third Team, marking her first All-Met and All-Conference performances. She started all 31 games for the Lions and put up a line of 12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game. She reached double digits 25 times, including four games of 20 or more, to go with two double-doubles.
The MBWA will recognize all honorees at their annual Haggerty Awards on Thursday (Apr. 24) at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel and Conference Center in Tarrytown, N.Y.
