Colonia, N.J. - The East Coast Conference announced the recipients of the 2024-25 All-Conference teams earlier this afternoon, with three members of the Molloy men's and women's basketball teams earning selection.
Sophomore
Rob Matos highlighted Molloy's honorees with a First Team selection. It is the guard's second All-Conference nod, earning Second Team and Rookie of the Year laurels a season ago. Matos continued to be a scoring force for Molloy in his second season, ending the regular season with a stat line of 657 points (24.3 per game), .449 field goal percentage, 117 assists, 75 rebounds, and 26 steals. He topped 20 points in 21 of 26 contests and make double digit field goals in seven. Matos netted his 1000th career point this season, meeting the milestone in just 45 contests. During the course of the season, he was recognized by the league as Player of the Week twice and was named to the Weekly Honor Roll in nine weeks.Â
Sophomore
Bryce Merchant earned his first All-Conference nod with a Third Team selection. Merchant averaged 17.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in his second season donning the cardinal and white. The guard shot over 51 percent from teh field and nearly 85 percent from the foul line. On the season, he netted three double-doubles and topped double digit point totals in 25 contests. He was selected the league's Player of the Week once.
Representing the women's basketball team, senior
Samantha Muller closed out her collegiate career with her second All-Conference selection (first at Molloy). The guard started all 29 contests and averaged 30 minutes per game en route to being named All-ECC Third Team. In total, she averaged 12.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to go with 61 steals, 55 assists, and six blocks. The senior had five or more rebounds in 20 contests and had double digit points in 23 games.
