West Babylon, N.Y. - The East Coast Conference released the results of its 2023-24 Preseason Poll, voted on by the coaches of the league. Junior
Emily Kulkarni was named Preseason Co-Bowler of the Year and the Molloy women's bowling team was selected third in the poll.
Last season's runner-up Bryant was chosen as the favorite, collecting 76 points and seven first place votes, Kutztown tallied 66 points and one first-place vote, Molloy was picked third with 60 points. Daemen was selected fourth with 51 points and one first place vote and Roberts Wesleyan rounded out the top five with 48 points.
D'Youville (40), Bryant (49), Adelphi (30), St. Anselm (23), and St. Thomas Aquinas (11) rounded out the nine-team conference.
Kulkarni leads a squad of seven returners from a season ago and was an intercal piece to the Lions 2022-23 team that made the ECC Final. Last season, the junior turned in the highest single-pin spare conversion percentage in all of NCAA Division II, converting at 92.30 percent and tallied the fourth-highest frame average across the ECC.
The cardinal and white kick-off the season Saturday, October 12 when they compete at the Bud Whitman Memorial Tournament hosted by Chestnut Hill.
