Colonia, N.J. – After an appearance in the ECC Title Game, the Molloy volleyball team was selected third and earned 36 points and one first-place vote in the East Coast Conference Preseason Poll, which was announced Friday. Graduate student
Kiarra Roth was named the Preseason Player of the Year.
Three-time defending champions Daemen Wildcats were tabbed first with four first-place votes and 56 points, Mercy was slated second collecting two first-place votes and 40 points, Molloy was third, and finishing out the playoff picture in fourth was Queens with 26 points. St. Thomas Aquinas (20), D'Youville (19), and Roberts Wesleyan (10) rounded out the poll in spots five through seven.
Entering her third season in Rockville Centre, Roth comes into the 2024 campaign on the back of consecutive All-ECC First Team selections in 2022 and 2023. The Outside Hitter received AVCA All-East Honorable Mention in 2023 following a season where she collected 363 kills, 278 digs, 59 blocks, 32 assists, and 19 aces.
The cardinal and white kick off its season Friday, September 7 against Lynn University on the campus of Saint Anselm at 3:00 p.m.
