Box Score Orchard Park, N.Y.- The women's tennis team wrapped up the 2024 season this afternoon with a 6-1 loss to D'Youville University. The Lions finished the year with a 1-10 overall record and 0-5 in conference play.

In doubles play, the teams of sophomores Alice Fartushynska and Isabella Fortaleza, along with freshmen Erin Sanchez and Ashley Bonilla, both dropped their matches 6-1. Despite D'Youville securing the doubles point, Molloy's pairing of senior Elena Baughman Saunders and freshman Taylor Gunnip battled to earn a hard-fought 6-4 win against Paola Ermina and Yelizaveta Prokopenk.

In singles, sophomore Julia Salazar claimed Molloy's lone singles victory, overcoming Prokopenk in a 6-3, 0-6, 10-8 third-set tiebreaker. Baughman Saunders came close, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-3 to Kseniya Zhdanok, while Sanchez fell 6-2, 6-2. Fartushynska was narrowly edged out in her first set, losing 6-4, before dropping the second 6-0 to Maria Campisi. Bonilla managed to win three games in her match.
