West Haven, Conn. - Sophomore guard
Darren Fergus was selected to the All-East Region First Team by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association, announced by the organization this afternoon. This is Fergus' first All-Region selection and comes after earning the East Coast Conference Player of the Year nod.
The Freeport native ended the season ranked in the top-50 nationally in 12 statistical categories, including 24th in the nation in total points and 25th in total steals. Offensively, he reached double digits in all 29 contests Molloy competed in and topped 20 points in 15 of them while adding six double-doubles. Along the way, the guard scored his 1000th career point, with nearly 600 of them coming this season to help him meet the milestone in just 61 contests.
Fergus will continue to the D2CCA All-American voting. The results will be announced following the opening weekend of the NCAA National Championship Tournament.
