Box Score Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's basketball team won its second East Coast Conference contest of the weekend, topping the Saints of D'Youville University, 69-63. Molloy improved to 9-14 on the season and 8-3 in league play while D'Youville now sits at 3-17 (2-8 ECC).
How it Happened
- In a contest that would be tied nine times, the teams found the score knotted six times in the first half, including as late as 22-22 with 5:18 remaining in the first half.
- The Saints would score seven of the next eight points to lead 29-23.Â
- A three-pointer from freshman Jake Lynch, foul shots from graduate student Jalen Rosemond, and two field goals from sophomore Darren Fergus in the final three minutes would sent the Lions to the locker room trailing, 34-32.Â
- The visitors would lead for much of the second half, including as much as seven points, 56-49, with less than 10 minutes to play in the contest.
- Baskets from senior William Muller and freshman Dashaun Warren gave Molloy its first lead of the second half with less than five minutes on the clock.
- The pair would combine for eight points in the final five minutes to go with three foul shots from Fergus to secure the 69-63 victory for the home team.
Top Performances
- Fergus led with 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting and added 13 rebounds for a double-double. The guard also topped the squad with eight assists and two steals.
- Muller added 16 points and seven rebounds.
- Warren rounded out the top scorers with 11 points.Â
