The women's bowling team completed in the bracket portion of the Northeast Classic, hosted by Sacred Heart University. The afternoon began with a 4-2 loss in a best-of-seven Baker format to Chestnut Hill College. In the following match, however, the maroon and white topped New Jersey City University, 4-2, to move on. The tournament ended with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Wilmington University, recording the program's 100th victory. Molloy ended the tournament, which featured some of the nation's top teams, in 23rd-place.
In local action, the varsity B team competed at both the Blue and Orange Classic and the West Chester Invitational.
The Lions took home third-place in the Blue and Orange Classic, with sophomores
Colleen Kingsepp and
Cassidy Syrdale taking home fourth-place in the doubles portion of the event, rolling games of 230 and 231, respectively. Freshman
Amanda Scarfogliero averaged a 182 on the afternoon, including bowling a high game of 231 in singles play.
At the West Chester Invitational, the maroon and white were in third headed into the final two contests of the afternoon. The Lions were able to top Suffolk Community College to take home second-place. Senior
Alyssa Doto placed second in singles while Scarfogliero and Kingsepp were each named to the All-Tournament team for their performance on the afternoon.
The keglers return to the lanes on Saturday (Jan. 25) at the West Chester Shoot Out in Fishkill, N.Y.
