Affrunti has been a force both at the net and at the service line for the maroon and white all season, leading the team in both kills (299) and aces (55) while ranking second in blocking (66). The middle ranks first in the nation in aces per set and eighth in total aces. This season, she has recorded double digit kills in 17 contests, led by a season-high 24 against the University of New Haven. Affrunti's Player of the Year nod comes after earning Player of the Week on three occasions this season and earning back-to-back First Team selections, including being tabbed the Rookie of the Year in 2017.
Smith solidified herself in the volleyball record books from her first season in maroon and white, and has continued to compete at an elite level for the Lions. The setter eclipsed both 4000 career assists and 1000 career digs this season, earning Setter of the Week eight of the 11 possible occasions. Smith recorded 16 contests of over 30 assists, including a season-high 54 against Le Moyne, and tallied 11 double-doubles on the season. This is the setter's second-straight Setter of the Year recognition and her third All-Conference nod.
Fischetti, who was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week four times this season, earns her first major conference award and her second All-Conference selection. The libero reached double digit digs on 25 occasions, including 11 games with 20 or more and a career-high 31 against Le Moyne.
Davis earned Rookie of the Year after leading the league in blocks per set (0.97) and ranking second in total blocks (77). Davis appeared in 26 matches in maroon and white, recording 92 kills. The middle set a career-high 10 kills at Southern Connecticut State while just missing a double-double at Daemen with 10 block and eight kills.
Banks picked up her third-straight All-Conference selection, totaling 263 kills to date. She enters tonight's contest just 29 kills short of tying the program-record. In her final season in maroon and white, Wehr ranked third on the team with a career-high 215 kills while adding 44 blocks.
Rounding out Molloy's awards, DesLauriers earned his second Coach of the Year nod in three seasons, taking the award home in 2017 in his first season at the helm. Under DesLauriers, the Lions posted a 23-4 record, including winning 17 contests in three sets. Molloy was also the first team since the 2014 season to go undefeated in conference play (10-0), surrendering just five sets.
