Box Score Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's tennis team defeated the Pioneers of LIU Post, 4-3, this afternoon for the Lions' second victory of the season. With the win, Molloy improves to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in East Coast Conference play. This marks the first time since the 2013 season that the maroon and white took home multiple victories in a single season.

How it Happened

• The tandem of juniors Montaine Le Goupil-Maier and Samantha Bloecker defeated Christina Jud and Isabelle Bifulco, 6-0, in doubles play.
• The Pioneers forfeited one doubles court, giving Molloy the two game advantage necessary to secure the point.
• Freshman Briana Gonzalez defeated Katie Kumpas 6-0, 6-1. Paired with a forfeit at #6 singles, the maroon and white needed just one more game to seal the match.
• Graduate student Katie Alexanderson ended the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Bifulco, giving Molloy the victory. 

Looking Ahead
The Lions return to action tomorrow (Sept. 29) against NYIT. The match against the Bears is slated for 11:00 a.m. at Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis.
