Box Score Sparkill, N.Y. – The tennis team fell in East Coast Conference play to the Spartan of Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 5-2, this afternoon. Molloy now sits at 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in league play.
 
How it Happened

• The tandem of junior Montaine Le Goupil-Maier and freshman Briana Gonzalez earned a 6-1 victory in doubles play; with the new ITA rules, the team that wins two of the three doubles matches receives the point, leading that match to not count for a point.
• In singles play, the sisters, graduate student Danielle Bloecker and junior Samantha Bloecker accounted for the lone points for the Lions.
• Danielle Bloecker defeated Anna Ristova in second singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-1.
• Samantha Bloecker edged Ulyana Kitchmanuk 6-3, 7-5.

 
Coach's Comments
"The sisters held down the fort today with Sam winning in both doubles and singles and Dani taking a singles win," said head coach Brendan Caputo. "Today's match came down to one singles court and one doubles battled that could have gone either way. I am very proud, this is the best effort I have seen all season."
