The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/ Rawlings, Division Two Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released their All-Region teams for the 2026 season. Six members of the cardinal and white were honored highlighted by junior
James Sill who was selected to the All-American Third Team from ABCA/Rawlings, First Team All-Region from all three organizations and was named the Pitcher of the Year from the ABCA. Head Coach
Joe Fucarino was named the Coach of the Year by the NCBWA.
For the second year in a row, Sill adds an All-American to his mantle of Molloy accolades. Sill becomes the first player in Molloy baseball program history to collect an All-American honor in back-to-back seasons, after being awarded an All-American Honorable Mention by the NCBWA in 2025.
Sill collects his second consecutive First Team nod from all three organizations and his first career Pitcher of the Year from the ABCA. The right-hander was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season where his finished second in the league with 91 strikeouts in 81.2 innings pitched. The junior collected seven wins alongside a 3.31 ERA while holding opponents to hitting .212 and finishing 29
th in Division II in WHIP (1.14).
For the second time in his career, Fucarino earns Coach of the Year from the NCBWA for the first time since 2022. After collecting East Coast Conference Coach of the Year for the seventh time during his tenure, Fucarino led the Lions to a program-record 23 game-win streak marking the second longest streak in Division II this season and one of five 20+ game streaks in all of college baseball. The cardinal and white completed the season with a 42-12 record, tying the single-season wins record with the 2024 team.
Redshirt junior
Mike Knapp joins Sill on the First Team from the ABCA after garnering Second Team honors from the NCBWA and D2CCA. Knapp receives All-Region recognition for the first time in his career after a huge 2026. The Levittown native collected a team-best 10 wins and 3.15 ERA while being a part of a staff that finished second in the nation in ERA (3.72). The right-hander totaled the second most wins in a single-season and second most strikeouts in a year (96), recording his only loss of the season on March 8 while finishing fourth in the nation in in strikeout-to-walk ration and eighth in complete games (5). Knapp highlighted the NCAA East Super Regional with a complete game shut out over top-seeded Bentley where he tied a career-high 11 strikeouts while allowing four hits.
Senior
Sean Welsh added three Second Team awards from all three organizations after capping his Molloy career. The first basemen led the Lions in average (.408), hits (84), runs (65), RBI (60), home runs (14), doubles, (14), and triples (6). Welsh became the programs all-time home run leader in 2026, totaling 33 big flies surpassing Molloy alum Joe Holden '05. With 84 hits this season, Welsh tied the single-season program record with alum Michael Scarinci '01.
Graduate student
JC Kiss joins Welsh on the Second Team in all three releases. Kiss compiled an 8-1 record and 59 strikeouts in 79.2 innings in 2026 pitching at least five innings in all 14 starts this season. The left-hander took the hill in Molloy's East Coast Conference Championship clinching game where he tossed seven innings allowing one run and struck out three without issuing a walk. Kiss concludes his Molloy career with the second-most wins in program history (23) while finishing seventh in career innings pitched (230.1).
For the first time in his career, sophomore
Jayden Patel tallies an All-Region Second Team nod from the NCBWA. The right-hander totaled eight saves in 2026, one shy of tying a single-season record and finishing 10
th nationally. The New Hyde Park native collected five multi-inning saves totaling 29.1 innings on the campaign while striking out 25.
Sophomore
Steve Mulqueen rounds out the Lions All-Region recognitions with a Second Team selection from ABCA. The Wantagh native enjoyed a breakout 2026 campaign as the primary right fielder, hitting .337 with 65 hits, 51 RBI, 50 runs, 12 doubles, 11 home runs, and 11 stolen bases. Mulqueen played hero on three occasions this season totaling three walk-off hits on the campaign with two coming on the same day in a doubleheader against D'Youville on April 18 before collecting his third against Staten Island on April 30.
