It was an outing full of records for the Lions earlier today at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). The women's program toppled three program records while the men's side added a new record as well.
Sophomore
Sophia Hines had a standout day, capturing two top-five finishes, one top-10, and a new program record. Hines recorded a leap of 11.56 meters in the triple jump, taking home second-place. The previous record, 11.38, was set by Hines just last season. Her afternoon also featured a time of 12.51 in the 100-meter for third-place as well as a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter at 25.61.
Freshman
Cameron Campo continued to best her own time in the 400-meter race, shaving .31 seconds off her previous program record time by running a 58.27, finishing in second-place. She would also take home a fifth-place and personal-best time of 25.44 in the 200-meter.
Graduate student
Marie Naudus topped the podium in the 800-meter, topping all competitors with a time of 2:16.47. The time also shaved over two seconds off the record that Naudus herself set just two weeks ago.
The women's 4x800-meter relay team of freshman
Martina Mileti, seniors
Alaysia Cobb and
Kathleen Healy, as well as Naudus took four seconds off the previous record time, running 9:52.32, good enough not just for a new program-record but for a first-place finish.
Sophomore
Ava Shepherd rounded out the top performances on the women's side with a first-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters.
For the men, sophomore
Raymar Duncan established a new record in the 400-meter at 49.50, good for fifth-place. With the mark, he now holds the 400-meter record for both indoor and outdoor.
Sophomore
Jurrel Hall was successful in both the high jump (1.85) and triple jump (13.51), finishing in fourth and third-place, respectively.
The Lions will next compete at the legendary Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26) in Philadelphia, Pa. before turning the attention to the East Coast Conference Championship on Apr. 30.
