After capturing the program's first East Coast Conference Championship and an appearance in the Quarterfinals in the NCAA tournament, the Molloy men's lacrosse team was picked first in the East Coast Conference poll, voted on by the league's coaches. Additionally, senior
Brian Green was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and senior
Thomas Kofod was named the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
The Lions received 47 points and six of seven first-place votes. 2025 runner-up Mercy was selected second with 41 points, Roberts Wesleyan was tabbed third with 33 points and one first-place vote, and Frostburg State rounded out the playoff picture tabbed fourth with 32 points. Rounding out the poll is D'Youville (22), St. Thomas Aquinas (13), and District of Columbia (8) finishing fifth through seventh, respectively.
Green put together one of the best offensive seasons in school history in 2025. The senior led the team with 69 points and 43 goals while adding 26 assists, 17 ground balls, and four caused turnovers. 12 of Green's goals came in postseason play, highlighted by a career-high five tallies in Molloy ECC Championship game at Mercy. His point and goal total from a season ago rank sixth in program history for a single season. The Kings Park, N.Y. natives performance helped him earn USILA All-American Second Team, USILA All-North First Team, and All-ECC First Team honors.
On the other side of the field, Kofod returns as one of the leaders atop the defense. 2025 saw Kofod finish second on the squad with 78 ground balls and 38 caused turnovers while collecting 13 points on the offensive side totaling three goals and 10 assists. The Seaford, N.Y. earned USILA All-American Honorable Mention, USILA All-North Third Team, and All-ECC Second Team honors in the historic season.
Head Coach
Bill Dunn begins his fifth season at the helm and will return five All-Conference players as part of 27 members of the championship squad in 2026. The team also features nine freshmen and six transfers.
Molloy's run at a repeat begins Saturday, February 14 at Southern New Hampshire at 12:00 p.m. with its anticipated home-opener Saturday, February 21 at 12:00 p.m.
