About Molloy
  • This is Molloy's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament.  The Lions received the five-seed after capturing the program's first-ever East Coast Conference Championship on Saturday (May 3), defeating top-seeded Mercy 11-10 in overtime. 
  • The Lions won the first round contest against fourth-seeded Pace University, 15-14 in overtime, on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Tommy Corcoron scored the game-winner just over one minute into the overtime frame. Junior Brian Green led the contest with five points on three goals and two assists while senior goalkeeper Christian Michaels made 10 saves. 
  • Molloy enters the Quarterfinal with a record of 16-4.
  • Molloy spent 11 of the 13 weeks ranked in the top-20 in Division II by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. In the most recent rankings, the Lions clocked in at 11, the highest ranking to date. 
  • The team's 16 wins set a program-record for wins in a season, topping the 12 wins of the 2005 team that won the ECAC Championship. 
  • So far in the NCAA Tournament, Molloy has had the top man-down defense and has ranked in the top-four in the 16-team field in caused turnovers (11), ground balls (43), man-up offense (.500), and shot percentage (.484) Freshman Aiden Dinnigan's three caused turnovers in the First Round contest at Pace is more than any other player so far in the tournament. 
  • The Lions entered the NCAA Tournament ranked among the top-10 in Division II in nearly every statistical category including: ground balls (738, 2nd), scoring defense (6.53, 3rd), scoring margin (8.58, 4th), caused turnovers per game (12.21, 4th), points (458, 5th), assists (171, 6th), man-down defense (.795, 6th), saves (244, 7th), ground balls per game (38.84, 8th), clearing percentage (.906, 9th), scoring offense (15.11, 9th), and winning percentage (.789, 9th). 
  • Michaels entered the NCAA Tournament ranked first in Division II with a .641 save percentage. He was fourth in the nation with a 6.75 goals-against average. The goalie was named the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year and earned the ECC Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament award following the ECC Championship victory. In his career with Molloy, he leads all goalies with 867 saves, making 200 or more in each of his four seasons with the Lions.
  • The offense has scored double digit points in each of the team's last six contests. They have reached double digit totals in 15 of 20 games. When reaching double digits, Molloy has a 14-1 record with the one loss coming in overtime. 
  • As a team, Molloy converts on 34% of man-up opportunities while holding opponents to under 20% The Lions also have won nearly 60% of face-offs to date.
  • The Lions received a program-record eight All-East Coast Conference selections and had three major award winners. Michaels (Goalie of the Year) and Dinnigan (Rookie of the Year) were named to the First Team along with senior Luke Hickam (attack) and Green (midfield). Senior Bryan Diliberto (midfield) and juniors Jake Taylor (attack),Thomas Kofod (long stick midfielder) and Rocco Hogan (short stick defensive midfielder) were all selected as Second Team. Head Coach Bill Dunn was tabbed the league's Coach of the Year.

Scouting Adelphi
  • Adelphi won the Northeast-10 Conference Championship for the second consecutive year (and sixth time overall) following a 13-12 overtime game against top-seeded Saint Anselm. 
  • The Panthers spent the entire 2025 season in the USILA Top-20 poll, never falling out of the top-five nationally and receiving a first-place vote in 11 of the 13 weeks. 
  • They enter the contest with an overall record of 16-1, going 7-1 in NE10 competition. 
  • Adelphi earned the one-seed in the NCAA Tournament and dominated eighth-seeded Georgian Court, 23-9, on Wednesday. 
  • The team entered the NCAA Tournament ranked in the top-five nationally in scoring defense (6.18, 2nd), scoring margin (11.47, 2nd), assists per game (11.35, 3rd), points per game (29.00, 3rd), winning percentage (.941, 3rd), scoring offense (17.65, 4th), shot percentage (..364, 4th), assists (193, 5th), points (493, 5th), and turnovers per game (15.24, 5th).
  • Braden Donnellan was ranked second in Division II in both assists per game (3.76) and points per game (5.82) while goalkeeper Dylan Renner was second with a goals-against average of 6.43. 
  • The Panthers tallied 12 All-NE10 selections, including the league's Player of the Year (Donnellan), Goalkeeper of the Year (Renner), and Defensive Player of the Year (Ries Rower). Joining the trio of First Teamers were midfielder Kyle Lewis, defenser Michael D'Alessandro, and short stick defensive midfielder Nick O'Shea. Noah Gibson (attack), Ryan Bauco (midfield), Kevin Groom (defense), and Ryan Durnin (long stick midfield) were named to the second team while Michael Durnin (attack) and Frank Falco (short stick defensive midfield) earned Third Team selections.
  • Adelphi enters the contest on a six-game winning streak following the team's lone loss of the season, a 9-6 contest at Saint Anselm back in the beginning of April. 
  • Lewis led the Panthers with nine points in the team's First Round contest against GCU on two goals and seven assists. Michael Durnin, Gibson, and Vincent McDermott all scored four times. Renner made nine saves. 

Historically Speaking
  • The Lions have a 3-13 record all-time against Adelphi. The pair did not meet in 2025, but have met each of the previous three seasons. 
  • Molloy's last victory against the Panthers came in 2009 with a 13-12 victory. Dating back to 1998, Molloy reached double digits against Adelphi in four contests with three of them going in favor of the Lions.
